Air Chief Marshal Sir Stuart Peach’s appointment as Chief of the Defence Staff is covered across several of today’s papers.The Mirror runs a nib and a picture, saying he spearheaded airstrikes in Libya in 2011 and report that insiders say it may mean greater use of special forces. The Sun nib carries the Defence Secretary’s quote which can be seen bellow.

I am delighted to announce that Air Chief Marshal Sir Stuart Peach will assume the role of Chief of the Defence Staff this summer when General Sir Nicholas Houghton retires.
Sir Stuart has been an outstanding VCDS and I look forward to working closely with him in taking the fight to Daesh and ensuring we have the best Armed Forces to keep Britain safe.
Lord Bramall
There is widespread coverage of the Queen allegedly backing Lord Bramall, former head of the Army, after he was falsely accused of child abuse. This features in The Sun, The Telegraph, The Mirror, The Mail and is the topic of several comment pieces. The Queen is said to have warmly welcomed Lord Bramall to a lunch at Windsor Castle while he was being hounded by the claims. She has known him for more than four decades.
