Libya
The Mail on Sunday speculates that UK Special Forces have been ambushed by Daesh suicide bombers in Libya. It is our long-standing policy that we do not comment on Special Forces operations.
Pilots' names
The Sunday Times says Daesh hackers claim they have published a list of 70 US military personnel allegedly involved in drone strikes in Syria and Iraq. The article says the group has also claimed it has a contact in the MOD, but that the claim could not be verified. It is our policy that we do not comment on alleged leaked documents.
Language complaint
The Sunday Express writes that a civil servant allegedly objected to the word 'brainstorm' in a MOD meeting for fear of causing offence. The piece quotes the Epilepsy Society as saying that in a survey it carried out 93% of people did not find the term offensive.
An MOD spokesperson said:
We are not aware of any complaint but we of course encourage all staff members to treat each other with respect and use appropriate language.
