This morning, there is coverage of a Forces of Mind trust and Local Government Association report looking at the Military covenant.
Military Covenant
The Daily Express has covered the “Our Community – Our Covenant report” released by the Forces of Mind trust and the Local Government Association . The report looks at how the Military covenant is enforced at local council levels.
An MOD Spokesperson said:
We are determined to stop our personnel being disadvantaged by their service. That is precisely why we set up the covenant and enshrined it in law. We have taken a number of practical steps to deal with this, such as making it easier to cancel phone contracts, rent out a property or retain no a claims bonus on car insurance when posted overseas.
There is more we can do and we have already started work in the areas where they recommend action.
