There was widespread coverage of The House of Commons Defence Committee published their report on efficiency savings, including BBC Breakfast, BBC Radio 4, Sunday Telegraph, Sunday Times, Mail on Sunday, Sunday Express, The Sun and Scotland on Sunday.
Most pieces highlighted the Chairman, Julian Lewis’ comments that
it is extremely doubtful that the MOD can generate even more efficiencies from within its already stretched budget.
An MOD spokesperson said:

As we told the Defence Committee, we are making good progress towards our efficiency target. We always look to provide the best value for money for the taxpayer, with all savings reinvested in defence.
