Today’s defence related news includes further coverage of a Royal Navy frigate escorting a Russian warship close to UK waters.

Russian warship escorted by UK frigate in North Sea

There is further reporting today of Russian Naval activity near UK waters, including in The Times, Daily Mail, Daily Telegraph, Daily Mirror, The Sun, Daily Record, The Herald, BBC, Evening Standard, Huffington Post, and Reuters. Media coverage highlights the work of HMS St Albans on Christmas day and notes the Defence Secretary’s comments that he “will not hesitate in defending our waters or tolerate any form of aggression.”

Defence Secretary Gavin Williamson said:

I will not hesitate in defending our waters or tolerate any form of aggression.

Britain will never be intimidated when it comes to protecting our country, our people, and our national interests.
