Today’s defence related news includes coverage of an Army recruitment campaign video and Second World War veteran Tony Rampling North Essex receiving the Légion d’Honneur.

Army recruitment video

There has been widespread coverage of an Army recruitment video. The Times, the BBC Radio 4 Today Programme, BBC News, Sky News and other broadcasters and online outlets have all reported on the video which is part of the Army's Belonging campaign.

A Second World War veteran from North Essex was today presented with the Légion d’Honneur, France’s highest distinction, in appreciation of his role in the liberation of France. Tony Rampling landed in Normandy with 61st Reconnaissance Regiment in June 1944.
