Defence news today includes further reporting about the Royal Navy’s new offshore patrol vessels.

Offshore patrol vessels

There is continued coverage in today's print about the Royal Navy's new fleet of offshore patrol vessels, including in the Daily Mail and The Sun, reporting that the Royal Navy took delivery this week of the first gunship that will ‘protect our fisheries.’

Defence Secretary Gavin Williamson said:

The Royal Navy has a proud tradition of protecting the UK’s coastline and keeping a close eye on our fishing waters. With these state-of-the-art, vastly capable ships we stand ready to protect our fisheries once Britain leaves the EU.

SCL group

The Times today continues its coverage around the SCL group, reporting that SCL was working on a defence contract a few weeks ago. The MOD's position can be seen below.

An MOD spokesperson said:

We have no current contracts with SCL Group, which includes Cambridge Analytica. As such, the company has no access to any classified information.
