Today’s defence-related news includes further reporting on the explosive devices sent to various transport hubs and other UK sites last week.

Explosive devices

Reporting was carried across the entirety of the national print press, including The Sun, Daily Mirror, Daily Mail, Daily Telegraph, Times, Guardian, Daily Express and Independent, on the explosive devices left at various London transport hubs and the University of Glasgow last week. After reports that two of these devices had been targeted at British Army recruitment officers, the Telegraph and Independent are among the outlets to report that the MOD is remaining vigilant while upholding our usual protocols and security procedures.

An MOD spokesperson said:

We take the security of our personnel and bases extremely seriously, and keep our security measures under constant review.
