It’s reported on broadcast outlets today that Amnesty International has accused Kurdish fighters in Iraq of crimes relating to the alleged displacement of Arab citizens and the demolition of homes.

Royal Navy warship HMS Portland hosted more than 200 people from across the maritime industry for London International Shipping Week’s official reception. The Type 23 frigate is berthed alongside HMS Belfast in the Thames, with Tower Bridge providing an iconic backdrop to the occasion. London International Shipping Week is an annual event which showcases the success story of British maritime industry - for example more than 503.2 million tonnes of freight were handled by UK ports in 2014. The Royal Marines Band Collingwood provided the music for the ceremonial sunset while speeches were provided by the First Sea Lord Admiral Sir George Zambellas and Secretary of State for Transport the Rt Hon Patrick McLouchlin MP.

On Monday 27th July 2015 the British Army's first XI vs The Pakistan Army's first XI was played at the British Army's home Cricket Ground in Aldershot. Among the principle guests invited to watch the match were Senior British and Pakistani officers, His Excellency Syed Ibne Abbas, the Pakistan High Commissioner along with fellow members from he Pakistan High Commission and members of business and regional communities. On the invitation by the British Army's Chief of the General Staff, General Sir Nick Parker, the Pakistan Army Cricket Team is touring the United Kingdom from 22nd - 30th July 2015 in a series of matches designed as much to further foster relationships between the two nations military communities, through the Defence Engagement initiative, as it is to test each others teams at the crease.
