Of note for Defence news today is further reporting on the future of Libya, and coverage of a Royal British Legion campaign for veterans.

Libya

Most papers, including The TelegraphThe FTThe Guardian, The Times, The Independent online edition, Daily Mail, The Sun, Daily Express and Wall Street Journalreport on discussions in Vienna around the future of Libya, focusing on the commitment in the concluding joint communiqué to arming Libya to fight Daesh. Articles say the five permanent members of the Security Council said they were ready to equip the unity government and would push for a loosening of the UN arms embargo.

Veterans

The Guardian, Daily Star and The Telegraph  carry picture stories of veterans painted ‘invisible’ at historic locations as part of a Royal British Legion (RBL) campaign to win recognition for former service personnel. The papers say the RBL wants questions on the Armed Forces to be included in the next census.
