The publication of the Chilcot report dominates this morning’s news both in broadcast and in the papers. There are also reports about the refitted RAF Voyager that is set to provide transport to the Royal Family and senior Government Ministers.

Iraq inquiry

This morning’s broadcast headlines all lead on the publication of the Chilcot report, which is due later this morning. Sky, BBC Breakfast and Radio 4 Today run interviews with Sir John Chilcot. Print coverage addresses a number of themes expected to be covered in the report, with articles saying they will include assessments of the legal justifications and military preparation.

Enhanced RAF Voyager

The Sun, BBC OnlineThe Daily Mail and The Daily Telegraph report on the RAF Voyager aircraft that has been refitted for senior politicians and members of the Royal Family to use for visits abroad.

Defence Equipment Sales

The Times and The Daily Mail report that the Bournemouth based defence and aerospace group Meggitt has been awarded a £14 million contract by the Australian Defence Force’s procurement arm to develop and manufacture assault rifle simulators and simulated grenade launchers for the organisation.
