Today's defence-related news includes coverage of an F-35 cockpit demonstrator event in London.

F-35 Cockpit Demonstrator

BBC Breakfast reported from the F-35 cockpit demonstrator in London, talking to Squadron Leader Andy Edgell and Lockheed Martin's CEO. The report included historic footage of the RAF with an interview with the last surviving British Dambuster Johnny Johnson.

Carillion

The Telegraph and The Times report on Carillion's service delivery. The Times notes that improvements were made but problems remain.

An MOD spokesperson said:

Carillion's insolvency announcement has no direct impact on defence or the services provided to the Armed Forces and their families. Housing will continue to be serviced, catering facilities provided and buildings and offices cleaned.

We take very seriously the quality of the accommodation provided for our Armed Forces and their families, including spending £49M on improvements.
