Leicestershire Police have pledged to support military personnel past and present by signing the Armed Forces Covenant. The force which currently employs four reservists, signed the covenant on 7 April 2017 at an event held at their headquarters in Enderby, Leicestershire. The Chief Constable Simon Cole signed the document and was joined Her Majestys Lord-Lieutenant for Leicestershire Lady Jenny Gretton, Colonel Tom Redgate, Colonel David Dorbe, Police Commissioner Willy Bach, John S Wilson OBE DL Regional Employer Engagement Director, Chief Inspector Duncan Southall Local Policing Directorate.

Her Majesty The Queen enters St George's Hall. The Queen was at Windsor Castle today to present a guidon to The Royal Lancers who are based in Catterick. The monarch also added an honorific suffix to the regiment's name to mark 70 years of her being its Colonel-in-Chief. The regiment will now be known as The Royal Lancers (The Queen Elizabeths' Own) Also in attendance at the Berkshire residence was His Royal Highness The Duke of York, who is Deputy Colonel-in-Chief.
