During National Inclusion Week, personnel are encouraged to recognise the diversity within the military, be it based on gender, race, sexual orientation, capbadge or social background, and to think about how we can ensure that everyone is included and treated fairly, with dignity and respect.
Armed Forces Minister Penny Mordaunt said:
We have fantastic networks which are coming up with amazing initiatives and are also expanding and gathering momentum. I’ve been to a whole range of events. One of the first events I went to was the Pride march in London and it was great to see the rainbow flag flying above main building on that day. I think one thing that really came across to me was how much that meant to those people, whether they were in uniform or on the civilian side, it’s really been fantastic. I’ve been very impressed with the program that we’ve had and also with becoming a Stonewall ally.
