Defence news today includes reporting about the RAF striking British jihadists fighting for Daesh.
RAF strikes
On its front page the Daily Mail reports that RAF pilots have been taking out British jihadists plotting UK terror attacks from bases in Syria and Iraq.
An MOD spokesperson said:
We and our coalition partners have been clear that if you are fighting for Daesh in Iraq and Syria then you will be targeted, irrespective of nationality. The UK is committed to the defeat of Daesh and publishes regular updates on air strikes conducted by the RAF.
BAE Systems
There is coverage today in The Times, Daily Express and The Telegraph (Business) that BAE Systems has announced that Charles Woodburn will become chief executive in July, after Ian King retires. The Times reports that he will work with governments to increase defence spending, while The Telegraph's business section reflects on Ian King’s time in post, saying he strengthened the relationship between the company and the UK’s Ministry of Defence.
